Henri Devos starts, together with his wife, the production of pickles and gherkins in Antwerp. At the same time they also manage a butchery.
Because of the increasing success of their artisanal products, they sell the butchery and move the production of the spices to Hoboken. A little bit later they also start producing mustard.
Devos Lemmens starts the production of mayonnaise which immediately covered a large part of the new factory. At that time they didn't have any idea that this product would later become the flagship of their product range.
Devos Lemmens celebrates its 50th anniversary by building a vinegar factory, in order to be able to produce on a large scale. In 1936, the product range consisted of pickles, capers and mayonnaise.
New sites are purchased, mainly for the storage of vegetables.
Devos Lemmens becomes a Limited Company. The capital is set at 10,14 million Belgian francs, and the products are being sold in more than 70 countries.
Devos Lemmens merges with De Blauwe Hand. They move to Puurs, where they can dispose of a new industrial area at the price of 1,60 euros per square meter. Today, the offices and production site are still located here.
Devos Lemmens Ltd. merges with Imperial Product Ltd. Both family companies become a part of the holding Continental Foods,with a 50-50% ownership. The total turnover is 550 million Belgian francs.
